can you reach us?
Taking
public transportation to Texel
If
you are coming from the direction of Amsterdam, take the intercity train
which departs Amsterdam 11 minutes before the hour. This will give you a
direct connection with the ferry. At the train station in Den Helder, take
Bus 33 to the Texel ferry, leaving 7 minutes after the hour. The ferry to
Texel ( 3.00 per person, return ticket) leaves on the half hour, every
hour between 6.30 a.m. and 9.30 p.m. On Sundays, the first boat of the day
leaves one or two hours later (depending upon the season). Arrival on
Texel is 20 minutes later.
On
Texel
Once
on the island, take the bus. All buses go to Den Burg, however some drive via
Den Hoorn and take longer. Get off at the main bus stop in Den Burg:
"Elemert". Walk along the Elemert street in the direction of the
town centre. Turn right at the second street, Warmoesstraat. After 50
meters, the foundation is located on the right side (nr 50). See map below.

Taking
the (Telecom) taxi
You
can also get to us from the boat via the telecom taxi. In that case,
purchase a ticket in Den Helder where you buy your ticket for the ferry.
The Telecom taxi costs 4.00 per person, no matter what your
destination is, and it brings you to the door of your destination.

your return trip, call at least an hour in advance: 0222 - 32 22 11.

Of course, there are also regular taxis available on the island. A bicycle
is another possibility. There is a rental bike shop on the parking lot for
the ferry. Just about all of the villages on Texel also have rental bike
shops.
Coming
by car
Taking
your car on the boat is expensive. You can park your car (for free) in Den
Helder next to the ferry dock and once on the island, you can take a bus
or (telecom) taxi or rent a bike.
The
boat to Texel leaves on the half hour, every hour between 6.30 a.m. and
9.30 p.m. On Sundays, the first boat of the day leaves one or two hours
later (depending upon the season). Arrival on Texel is 20 minutes later.
A
regular-sized car will pay 35.00 full charge for a return ticket,
including the passengers. There is a lower charge of 24.50 daily from
1 November to 31 March, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1
April to 31 October.
You
will not be able to park your car in the Warmoesstraat. The map (left)
shows reveral parking lots, paid (green) and free parking (blue).
Other
transportation
Of
course, you can always reach Texel with your own boat, docking in
Oudeschild. From Oudeschild, you can take the (telecom) taxi, bus or
rental bike to Den Burg. It is approximately 4 km, for those who choose to
walk!
