In 2001, the Foundation for a
Sustainable Texel formed a Sustainable Building committee. The committee is
made up of representatives from the Texels Union of contractors,
architects, joiners, construction companies, suppliers and engineers. The
council of
Texel and the ‘Foundation for Housing on Texel’ are involved as well.
The committee is active in a number of
projects:

The
second Sustainable Building Fair ("Duurzaam Bouwen Beurs") was
held on April 8th and 9th. Approximately 2,000 visitors attended with over
40 information stands displaying information on an impressive array of
products ranging from sustainable building materials to home decoration
materials.
